Our Philosophy

Donvale preschool is a fun, caring, creative kindergarten environment where children are encouraged to explore, to question, experiment, to be curious and to be self motivated learners.

The children are offered a range of topics through role play, construction, music, dance, creative art and pre-literacy and numeracy. These tasks are enhanced by participation in excursions, incursions and other special events. Providing a safe, fun, happy, caring and friendly ‘home-from-home’ environment where every aspect of each child’s development is encouraged and nurtured by constant interaction with long-standing, experienced, highly qualfied, dedicated and caring staff whom we hope you will come and meet.

We understand each & every child is a Unique Child – every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured. They need Positive Relationships – children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person. They are given Enabling Environments – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning. Learning and Development follows – children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. All areas of Learning and Development are equally important and interconnected, therefore, plan a curriculum that stimulates a love of learning; fostering a healthy development.

Our team is vocational, highly qualified, experienced and fun loving; attending regular training days and courses to expand their knowledge and update their skills.

We believe that children learn by ‘doing’ rather than being told and our staff fully support and encourage them in their individual journeys of self-awareness and developmental growth.

Parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged by our enthusiastic & devoted staff who develop and implement the program in conjunction with the families and the community.

Donvale Pre-School is a nut free environment, a sun-smart centre and has Asthma Accreditations.
